Background


Rigg Access was formed in 1997 to provide recruitment services for an international niche audience of engineers and technicians whose expertise is operating at height. Climbing and caving techniques are used to access difficult to reach areas on buildings, oil rigs, bridges, and other tall structures. Rigg Access acts as a job portal, putting companies in touch with personnel, providing career advice to aspiring technicians, and connecting trainers with potential candidates. Their first online sale was from Western Australia in October 1997. Since then, they have built a global clientele, predominantly in the oil, gas, power generation and construction/civil engineering sectors.


The problem


Rigg Access approached Coreix with the need for a truly reliable network with secure, scalable database solutions. 


Their online services rely heavily on database-driven data: during day-to-day operations, they collate vast amounts of usage data which is then packaged and redesigned into a visual format for clients. They also take online payments and use databases as a back-end to power intelligent websites. 


In order for the required data to be reliably collated, distributed, and paid for globally, they had to create a bespoke online system, unlike anything else available at the time. Then, as reliance on mobile applications increased, their need for a reliable network and robust database connectivity accelerated further. So they started digging into who might be able to deliver:
